Disha began in October 2025 with a vision to create meaningful change through youth empowerment. Founded by graduates of the Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center BBLT (Building Bridges through Leadership Training), Batch 52, we transformed our leadership training into action by securing the BBLT/BBLTJ LIA (Leadership in Action) Scale-Up Fund (Phase 5).
We identified a key challenge: many rural youth lack access to quality education, while many urban youth cannot fully utilize available resources despite having digital access.
At Disha, we believe education must combine quality learning with practical skills. Our work focuses on reducing inequalities, unlocking potential, and empowering youth to contribute to Bangladesh’s economic and social development.
A future where every young person is equipped with the skills, confidence, and vision to lead, innovate, and transform their communities.
To empower youth through skills development, mentorship, and leadership opportunities, enabling them to create sustainable and positive change.
To design and implement data-driven initiatives that enhance youth skills, improve resource use, and generate social impact across communities.
We foster a culture where individuals uplift, collaborate, and grow together.
We empower young people to lead confidently and take initiative for change.
We create lasting positive change that benefits communities widely.
We promote fairness, equal opportunities, and respect for diversity in every aspect.
We use creative and modern methods to improve learning and skills.
We practice honesty, responsibility, and strong ethical values in all our actions.
Disha operates under a formal governance structure led by an Executive Committee responsible for strategic oversight, compliance assurance, and institutional decision-making.
